Lot 200: Yamaha XK900
The Yamaha XJ900 was born out of the original XJ650 which was the foundation for the whole XJ series. Launched originally in 1983, the XJ900 had an air-cooled, double overhead cam, 853cc 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, 8-valve engine and came with anti-dive front forks, shaft drive and triple disc brakes; with two at the front and one rear. A revised version was launched in 1984 with an 891cc engine and the transmission upgraded to a five speed unit with a top speed of around 120mph.
This particular XJ900 was first registered in April 1986 and has been owned by the current vendor since December 1986. Presented in good order, this bike has only covered 16,821 miles in 26 years. Supplied with a V5 Registration document together with the original owner's manual, this motorcycle is well engineered and a willing performer.
