Lot 202: 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380 SLC Coupe

Sports, Touring, Historic Road and Racing Cars, Coys (30 April 2006)

Mercedes-Benz SL models have long been hailed as durable and reliable cars; their build quality has surpassed the test of time as many of these stylish cars remain in very good condition as shown in this example here. The SLC, fixed head coupé version of the better known convertible is a lesser known car, but not a poor cousin as it offers the same refinement and the addition of two albeit small rear seats. This particular example, manufactured in 1981 is finished in champagne gold with a tan leather interior and is described to be in very good condition. The car has the optional five spoke alloys with power being delivered through the smooth automatic gearbox. The car has been well maintained and regularly serviced by the current lady owner of the last 13 years, only using the vehicle as a second car. All MoT certificates dating back to 1992 are supplied along with a file of bills, a V5/2 document, a current MoT valid until September of this year and Road fund licence valid until October. With the legendry Mercedes build quality and fine styling, this coupe will provide reliable classic motoring.
