Lot 234: 1995 Aston Martin Vantage

Sports, Touring, Historic Road and Racing Cars, Coys (30 April 2006)

The legendary Aston Martin V8 came into production in 1971 in the form of the classic DBS V8, a car that spawned a 30 year production span using the all alloy 5.4 litre quad cam V8 designed by Tadek Merak. The engine was tested and developed in the mid sixties, installed in a Lola sports protoype that allowed Merak and Aston Martin to prove the engines capability. The supercharged V8 Vantage is perhaps the ultimate developement of that V8 engine. Aston Martin unveiled the car in 1993, with lines similar to the Virage upon first inspection, it was a car that took the public by storm. The Vantage was actually a completely separate car to the Virage and boasted revised front and rear end styling with six rectangular headlights, round tail lights with a new front spoiler arrangement. The engine was given two Eaton superchargers producing 550BHP and giving the car a collosal 186 Mph top speed. The factory also claimed a 0-60 sprint of 4.6 seconds, phenonmenal performance given the fact the car weighs 1900kgs. The Vantage was also one of the last coachbuilt V8 engined Aston Martin to be built before being superseded by the 12 cylinder engine as seen in the DB7 / 9 variants. Aston Martin have recently re-introduced an 8 cylinder car to the range in the form of the V8 Vantage, the 'baby' Aston. This particular car that we offer today is resplendant in storm red coachwork with tan leather interior. A left hand drive, manual example, the car was manufactured in January 1995 and has covered just 14,666 miles from new. It comes complete with nine stamps in the service book, all from Stratstones, Aston Martin main dealers in London. The car comes with 6 CD changer, DVD player, satellite navigation, alarm and tracker system. The boot has also been retrimmed in places with leather. This is an excellent oppurtunity to purchase one of the truly great Aston Martin V8 muscle cars which is sure to give any current supercar a run for the money.
