Lot 249: 1982 Audi Quattro - One owner from new

Sports, Touring, Historic Road and Racing Cars, Coys (30 April 2006)

Audi's Quattro took the rallying world by storm, being the first car to use a turbocharged engine in conjunction with four wheel drive. The results were astounding and the message for manufacturers was clear, they needed four-wheel drive to be competitive in rallying. The road car featured an up rated version of Audi's 2 litre 5 cylinder engine capable of turning out over 215bhp. The road car was as sensational as the rally car, being in its day probably the most practical and capable of performance cars. This particular right hand drive example was manufactured in 1982 and is particularly rare in being a one owner from new example. The car also boasts a full service history, with the last service 12 months ago. The owner stated he would try to service the car prior to sale. The black interior is reported to be like new and the silver paint work is in excellent condition having only covered approximately 80,000 miles from new. Recent additions include a new exhaust along with a new battery a year ago. Tyres are reported to be in good condition also. The car is supplied with the original service books, a V5C document, an MoT valid until June of this year and is taxed for 6 months. This is a unique opportunity to buy a low mileage, one owner from new rally bred missile.
