Lot : Porsche 911 TURBO

Vintage, Classic & Collectors Motor Vehicles, BCA (22 April 2008)

Since its introduction in the mid 1960s the 911 has undergone a programme of enhancement, evolution and enlargement, though the current model is recognisably a descendant of the original. One of the most dramatic advances in performance came in 1975 with the introduction of the flagship turbo model, complete with its formidable 'Whale Tail' rear wing. A 1987 model, this 911 Turbo is finished in blue with beige interior trim. Described as having sound bodywork, the car would seem to have been well maintained throughout its life. Recent work has included the replacement of the rear brake discs and rear tyres. The turbo has been renewed, as have the alternator and battery. The specification includes electric sunroof, windows, mirrors and seats, along with air conditioning and a multi-play CD player. The documentation supplied with this example includes the original handbook pack together with a quantity of invoices for parts supplied and work carried out, a V5 document and MOT certificate valid until October 2008. Previous MOT certificates would indicate that the car has covered little more than 10,000 miles over the last six years.
