Lot 012: Jensen Interceptor MkII

Classic Car, Motorcycle & Automobilia, Brightwells Auctioneers and Valuers (24 June 2009)

First registered in September 1971, this Interceptor MkII was in regular use up until 2002 when it was parked up in a car port having been displaced in its owner's affections by an Alvis TD21. The bodywork has now deteriorated somewhat during storage but the car is said to be mechanically very good and to run and drive well after a recent service. The vendor states that it is very sound underneath with a sound chassis and floorpan.

Clearly well looked after before being laid up, it comes with a large amount of history back to 1993 and there are bills on file for a complete gearbox rebuild in 1994 (since when the car has covered less than 15,000 miles). Other bills show new front brake discs and a partial rewire in 2000, a new water pump in 1998, and the vendor states that much of the suspension was also renewed at around the same time. Being offered for sale with no MOT or tax, this is nevertheless a fairly straightforward rolling restoration that could be brought back into fairly tidy condition without too much difficulty
