Lot 115: Mitsubishi Willys Jeep
It's a little known fact but from the mid-1950s until the 1990s Mitsubishi continued to make the old wartime Willys Jeep under licence. As tough and simple as the original, it made very few concessions to modern times but did receive an updated power plant and transmission. This particular example has been recently imported from Japan where it was used as a show car, hence the many custom modifications. It is powered by a lusty 2.7-litre diesel and features massive wheels and tyres for that essential 'monster truck' look. Other features include some very trick suspension, a big-bore stainless steel exhaust, a stainless steel roll-cage, bucket seats and racing harnesses. Said to be in excellent condition throughout and capable of going just about anywhere, it is due to have a fresh MOT before the sale and certainly stands out from the usual 4x4 crowd!
