Lot 401: Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Saloon

Rolls-Royce, Bentley Motor Cars and Automobilia, Bonhams (19 June 2010)

This Silver Shadow II had been owned and driven by only two R-REC members from 1988 onwards, during which time it was used actively on many Club events, prior to its purchase by the current vendor at Bonhams' Kelmarsh Hall Sale in June 2006 (Lot 404). It has service history with Rolls-Royce specialists up to 1990 (at 84,000 miles) but subsequent records have been mislaid. Since June 2006 the car has benefited from regular servicing by the owner in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions at 5,000 and 10,000-mile intervals and six-monthly. We are advised that some braking system components have been replaced (front discs, hoses, etc), exhaust components replaced as necessary and new front tyres fitted recently. The car is described as in generally good condition, with all systems functional including the radio/cassette, electric aerial and cruise control. 'OSU 875' is finished in Georgian Silver livery with black Everflex roof and pale blue leather interior complete with lambs' wool over-rugs. Other noteworthy features include locking wheel trims, air horns (in addition to the standard fitting), rear footrests, halogen headlights and 'anti-theft' mascot. A non-original passenger door mirror and an additional switch to disconnect the air conditioning compressor while leaving other climate functions operational are the only other modifications notified. The car comes with a full set of tools, original owner's handbook, sundry invoices, current road fund licence, fresh MoT and Swansea V5 registration document.
