Lot '07: Mercedes-Benz 230SLK Kompressor

Classic & Vintage Cars & Motorcycles, Brightwells Auctioneers and Valuers (23 June 2010)

The W170-platform SLK230 Kompressor was introduced in 1997 to compete with the Porsche Boxster and BMW Z3. Setting it apart was the ingenious folding electric hardtop, the balletic operation of which never ceases to delight onlookers. It wasn't just about posing either under the bonnet lurked a seriously pokey 2.3-litre supercharged four-cylinder engine that produced a meaty 193bhp. Allied to a five-speed automatic transmission, it endowed the car with a 0-60 time of just 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 149mph.

Presented in the classic colour combination of Metallic Silver with a black leather interior, this particular car was first registered in September 1997 and has covered 134,000 miles to date. Always correctly maintained with 12 service stamps to date, it is said to be in very good condition throughout and to drive beautifully with everything working as it should. Currently taxed and due to have a fresh MOT before the sale, it is ready for immediate use and is the perfect car for cruising around in this summer. These SLKs really are fantastic fun to drive and this one looks amazing value at the guide price suggested today.
