Lot 110: Morris Minor 1000 Saloon

Classic - Collectors - Historic and Sports Cars, Barons (26 July 2010)

Those of us of a certain age will either have owned, driven or been a passenger in a Moggie Minor. If you fail to qualify on this front, then your auntie Flora probably owned one or the vicar of your church. It did not matter where you were in the world either, because the humble Moggie found its way to the four corners of the earth . Still, some 6 decades after its launch and almost 4 decades since its demise, the Moggie Minor is still providing daily transport for students and other youngsters who recognise its simple virtues.

The example offered here has been uprated with a 1300cc "A Series" engine, by Slark Engineering which is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. To cope with the additional power, the car also has, servo assisted, disc brakes at the front and it sits on a set of 13", Minilite style, alloy road wheels.

Finished in Ivory with ivory leather piped black, the car appears standard and is described as being in good to very good condition throughout. It has covered just 5526 miles since being uprated and is said to be quite a quick little Moggie.

All the classic style plus performance at an affordable price.
