Lot 213: Chevrolet Special Deluxe Sedan

Cars, Historics at Brooklands (3 March 2011)

This 1941 example is finished in brown coachwork with beige upholstery and was imported from California to the UK for filming. Power is supplied by a rebuilt 235 Ci straight six engine fuelled by two new carburettors mounted on a Fenton split manifold with a duel side-exit exhaust system which gives the car a lovely exhaust note. The vendor states that the gearbox works well with smooth changes courtesy of the 3-speed transmission fitted before shipping from the USA and the brand new complete clutch system that was fitted during filming.

Buyers should note that the chassis rails have been modified to accommodate the new drive train and we advise that the new owner should check the rails for strength and integrity before using the car. The braking system has been overhauled and the vendor states the car has been reliable during their time of ownership.

All import duties have been paid and this Chevrolet is supplied with a certificate of authenticity by Marvel Studios confirming its involvement in the filming of Captain America- The First Avenger.
