Lot 116: Ford Zephyr

Classic, Collectors and Historic Motor Cars, Barons (25 July 2011)

Ford had been using the Zephyr title for many years in the American Lincoln division, but it was not until 1950 that Ford of Great Britain first used the title on their range-topping model based on the Consul. The Zephyr and Zodiac names would carry over to the MkII, MkIII and MkIV but the only four cylinder Zephyrs offered were the 1700cc MkIII and 2 litre MkIV. Offered here is a 1963 Zephyr 4, which has been the subject of a 'nut and bolt' rebuilt during the vendors ownership. The owner states that if it needed doing, it was done from the brightwork to a bare metal repaint. Finished in Windsor grey with red interior, the car is described as being in 'A1' condition and is offered complete with a trailer built from the rear of another Zephyr. This trailer is said to be 90% finished with only minor items needing to be completed.
