Lot 213: Aston Martin DB7
Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was Aston Martin's first six cylinder model since production of the DB6 Mk. II had finished in 1971. Styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen in its design. Arguably one of the most attractive looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two door coup body and powerful six cylinder engine.
Power was supplied by an all alloy double overhead camshaft supercharged 24 valve inline six cylinder engine which produced 335bhp @ 5750rpm. The supercharger was supplied by Eaton who also provided blowers for the mighty eight cylinder Vantage that was produced at Newport Pagnell at the same time as the DB7 at Bloxham. Regarded by many as the purest modern Aston Martin, the DB7 will undoubtedly be a collectable car for years to come and is equally at home in the city or out on the open road.
This much loved and highly cherished DB7 has been owned by the current vendor since June 2000. With a comprehensive service history carried out by Aston Martin franchised dealers Grange, Marshall and HWM, this DB7 has covered just over 1,000 miles in the last four years. The last service was carried out by HWM at Walton-on-Thames in March 2011 at 95,215 miles, the invoice totalled 5,700. This highly desirable manual transmission, pre-air bag model, is finished in Pennine grey with matching grey leather trim and is supplied with a V5 registration document, together with an MoT test certificate valid until June 2012. The reluctant sale of this DB7 represents a superb opportunity to acquire a true British classic at an affordable price.
