Lot 216: Alfa Romeo GTV

Fine Motor cars incl. The Jaguar Legend, Coys (14 July 2012)

The Alfa Romeo 105/115 series Coups were a range of cars made by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1963 until 1977. They were the successors to the celebrated Giulietta Sprint coup and used a shortened floorpan from the Giulia Berlina carThe 2000 GTV was introduced in 1971 together with the 2000 Berlina sedan and 2000 spider.

The 2000 range was the replacement for the 1750 range.. The engine produced 130 hp at 5500 rpm .The 2000 GTV is most easily distinguished by its different grille. From 1974 on, this became standard on the GT 1300 Junior and GT 1600 Junior as well.

This stunning 1972 2000 GTV was sold new to the Rt Hon Viscount Portman . From his ownership, the car was taken off the road in 1992 and stored in a dry barn . With the vendor confirming just 21,000 miles from new, BCJ 185J has been the subject of much recent work.

Work included engine and gearbox oil change, coolant, diff fluids changed, new points, plugs, leads, exhaust, new heater hoses, rebuilt carbs, UJ's and rear rebound straps. Supplied with one year'sm.o.t , Everything is reported to be working in fine order- as one would expect with such a low mileage car. BCJ 185L was subject to a Bare metal Re-spray in Rosso 501 Red earlier this year, and the black Interior is described to be in very good order.

Underneath the car has also been attended to- with a recent under sealing in the wings and throughout the underside of the car. Described by the vendor to be in restored condition, BCJ 185L is arguable the lowest mileage GTV left in the world. Not to be missed.
