Lot 156: Morris Mini Minor

The Footman James Mini and Classic Car Show, Charterhouse (10 February 2013)

The Sir Alec Issigonis designed Mini became available in 1959 and would change the face popular motoring forever. This charming early survivor from the third year of full production has been in the same family ownership from 1979 and has covered a believed 74,000 miles from new. Steve Harris acquired the Mini in 1987 with the intention of preparing the car as an 18th birthday present for his daughter (she was ten at the time). During the sympathetic refurbishment, retaining the originality of the car was paramount and approximately 85% of the car is original. For piece of mind, the engine has been overhauled and re-bored with new parts as necessary, likewise the body has had localised repairs. Primrose, as she is affectionately known, has been prepared to a high standard by Steve Harris and now awaits a caring new owner to cherish and enjoy her. Heritage certificate, V5C, MOT to May 2013, tax exempt.
