Lot 103: Ferrari 575M

HISTORIC COLLECTORS MOTORCARS, Coys (29 June 2013)

First appearing in 1996 as the 550, this car blended history and tradition with thoroughly modern technology and shattering performance. A 5474cc V12 tuned for 485 horsepower managed 0-60mph in just 4.2 seconds, and to claw on up to a mighty194mph. Its Pininfarina body stretched taut on the monocoque, looked clean and graceful. It offered a driving experience that was at once elegant and almost brutal, stirring and yet refined by today's exacting standards. The 575M Modificata turned up the heat even more. Now with 5748cc and a gut-wrenching 508 horsepower, a top speed of 202mph was achieved. Ferrari's big front-engine luxo-sport casts an even bigger shadow over the competition. The paddle-shifted six-speed F1 gearbox makes any driver feel more heroic. A new active-damping suspension provides a plush casual-driving ride, but also serves up firm, positive control when you toss the car around with intensity. Exactly what the 575's character and speed potential call for. This stunning 575M has covered a mere 21,800 miles and is finished in Nero Black with a Daytona Black hide, complemented by a Fiorano handling pack, and extras including Sat Nav with DVD player, speaker upgrade and rear parking sensors. The car comes with full Ferrari service history, including a major service recently completed at Ferrari Swindon. A nicer example we are sure you won't find, outstanding in every respect.
