Lot 100: MG F MkII Roadster Steptronic

Classic Vintage Cars & Motorcycles, Brightwells Auctioneers and Valuers (27 November 2013)

One of three MG F models in our sale today, this July 2001 MG F MkII had just two lady owners from new up until May this year when the current vendor acquired it. A rare automatic model, it features a clever continuously variable Steptronic transmission with six contrived fixed ratios that can be driven either in fully automatic mode or manually by shifting up and down using the gear lever or the buttons on the steering-wheel. It is powered by the lusty 118bhp 1.8-litre fuel-injected engine which, in automatic form, gives it a very respectable 0-60 time of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 118mph. Finished in dark red metallic with a black and grey half-leather interior, it also benfits from a boot-mounted luggage rack. Said to be in excellent condition throughout, it has covered less than 39,000 miles to date with a full history comprising 7 service stamps to date, the last less than 2,000 miles ago. MOTd until July next year it is 'on the button' and ready to go.
