Overview

Although he never seems to have formed a company, George Barnes made a number of tricars with 5hp engines mounted ahead of the front wheels and driving the single rear wheel by a long chain or V-belt.  The price was 58 guineas (£60.90).  When he was at the Deptford address he was described in trade directories as a motor car maker, and justified this by advertising a 4-wheeled light car powered by a 12hp 4-cylinder engine, available in 2-or 4-seater forms.  This was announced in January 1906, but does not seem to have lasted out the year.  He also made tricars with 6,8 or 12hp engines.
