The Hinstin may resemble a Bugatti externally, but the comparison stops there. The Hinstin was built between 1920 and 1926 by Jacques Hinstin, a Gregoire dealer from Maubeuge. The company did not produce engines or gearboxes itself, but purchased these from well-known manufacturers such as C.I.M.E., Altos and Ruby. Thanks to his good contacts with Gregoire, Hinstin was able to sell his cars in England through the Gregoire dealer network. In England, the cars were known as 'Little Greg'.
