Marshall-Arter

Overview

1912 - 1915

Originally known as the Q.E.D., this was a light car powered by an 8hp V-twin J.A.P. engine, with an unusual drive.  Instead of a propeller shaft, there was a long flat spring revolving in a casing, which absorbed all sudden jerks.  This led to a 2-speed gearbox incorporated in the rear axle.
