Like so many other British sportscar manufacturers TVR has had a somewhat "bumpy ride" since it built its first cars in the mid-1950's. Founded by Trevor Wilkinson in 1947, TVR has grown to become a success story for Britain to be proud of, proving that exciting cars can still be designed with limited financial resources.
One aspect of all TVR designs has always been its use of GRP in the body construction of its road cars. Many TVR models have used Ford or Rover engines, although more recent models have used in-house engine designs to good effect. Today TVR continues to go from strength to strength building more and more cars from its factory in Blackpool each year.
