Half of the 1975 Nova cars sold had six-cylinder engines. Police forces preferred the V-8, especially the 5.7 litre unit. When fitted with the quadruple Rochester carburettor, this motor produced 157 bhp at 3,800 rpm.
Chevrolet was number one in Detroit again in 1975. They sold 1,707,528 of their Vega, Nova, Camaro, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, BelAir, Impala, Caprice and Corvette models.
