Following the success of the original Alfetta GT of 1974, Alfa Romeo replaced it with a revised Alfetta 1.6 GT. The new 1.6 Gt used a 1570cc twin cam, four cylinder engine which developed 109bhp. The new model had a few detail changes and later a more luxurious GTS version became available. Production of the Alfetta 1.6 GT finished in 1979.
