This Daimler was built in Coventry. Daimler was the main supplier of Automobiles & Limousines to the Royal Family. This is not the same Daimler that is now Daimler Chrysler. When the Ford Motor Company purchased Jaguar 1989 they also purchased the name Daimler & Jaguar continues to use the name Vanden Plas in current models to denote the most luxurious Sedans.
This particular car is one of four manufactured. Two were right hand drive & two left hand drive.
After months of anticipation on Wednesday 13th February the car arrived in a container at Browns Lane, Coventry. First time in UK since 1951. It is currently undergoing a full restoration.
This one was made for the Opera singer James Milton. Ford Motor Company purchased the car in June 2000 from Richard Kughn Owner of the Karail Museum in Detroit.
The name Green Goddess refers to the series of bodies Daimler built based on the Docker Daimler Chassis.
