Nothing much more than a renamed, basic 911, the 911L joined the revised 911 range in 1967 which would eventually include T and S models.

The 911L still used the same 1991cc air-cooled engine and now had standard 5 speed transmission, although from 1968 a semi-automatic version also became available. 1600 911L's were produced until replaced by the 911E in 1968.
