Overview
Produced: 1998-0
Types:

First seen in 1998 the Alfa Romeo 156 was the first serious attempt by Alfa to attack the reigning class champion, the BMW 3-Series, in the executive market. Featuring handsome styling, clever design details and good build quality the 156 brought the fight right to BMW's door step.

Offered only as a four door saloon at first (followed by a stylish sports-estate version) the 156 came with a host of engine and transmission options, including a V6 petrol engine and a "tiptronic" style gearbox. The car continues to sell in healthy numbers and still looks fresh and innovative.
