Once again Hillman updated its popular Minx range in 1953, the Phase VI model. The Minx Phase VI featured new styling, complete with a full width front grille and came with a choice of different bodystyles. Body options included the usual saloon and estate along with an attractive convertible and a special, pillar-less, hardtop coupe known as the Californian.
Despite using the old sidevalve engine carried over from the previous Minx the new car received new piston combustion chambers and an improved carburettor.
