As soon as Alfa Romeo was able to repair its war-damaged factory and begin production, it concentrated on this 1939 model while preparing its new cars. As the designation suggests, it had a six-cylinder, 2.5 litre dohc engine and a chassis that was pure Jano, with front suspension by coil springs and trailing arms and independent rear suspension by swing axles and longitudinal torsion bars. Several body styles were available, mostly executed by Touring, and all had right hand drive, like every other Alfa before them. The basic car used a 90 bhp engine in a 118in wheelbase chassis.
