The Jaguar 2.4 Litre (Mk I) had firmly established itself by
The automatic had 3 gears. Early cars had drum brakes, the 1959 has 4 wheel disc. It also has 4 speed manual with a Laycock de Normanville electric overdrice mounted behind the transmissiaon with swith on the upper left facia (dash).
The 3.4 Litre was capable of reaching
As with the 2.4 Litre Mk I the 3.4 is often over looked in favour for the later Mk II cars and has now become a rare sight.
