Jaguar E-type 4.2 litre 2+2

Overview
Produced: 1966-1968, 5598 produced.
Types: Coupe,2 doors, 2+2 seats

One thing that the original E-type Coupe had always lacked was useable interior space, therefore in 1966 a longer two-plus-two coupe (2+2) version appeared. The E-type 2+2 Coupe used the new 4.2 litre XK engine which for the first time could be specified with an automatic gearbox in place of the usual manual unit.

To accommodate the extra seats the E-types body had to be stretched by a further 9 inches. In reality these extra seat were only suitable for small children, although they could also be folded down to increase luggage space. Today these 2+2 E-types are considered to be less desirable than the earlier, more glamorous 2 seater cars.
