The Crown was the most expensive car Toyota had ever made at the time. It had a monocoque body with space for six persons and a 1,453 cc four-cylinder engine of 55 bhp output.
The 1959 Crown was an export model with left-hand steering. Its mass of chrome was to impress the US market.
